Job Summary:

This is a banking position. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced SVP to lead and expand our Corporate & Syndicated Loans portfolio. This role is responsible for originating, structuring, and managing syndicated and bilateral loan transactions, overseeing end-to-end loan syndication processes, and strengthening the bank's corporate lending capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, team builder, and business generator, capable of building strong client relationships and ensuring operational excellence while complying with internal and regulatory frameworks.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Originate, structure, and lead syndicated and bilateral loan transactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients and financial institutions.
  • Expand the bank's presence through active participation in community and industry networking events.

Loan Structuring & Execution

  • Manage the full lifecycle of loan syndication-from origination and structuring to closing and funding.
  • Analyze market trends and determine optimal loan structures based on client needs and risk appetite.
  • Lead negotiations on terms and conditions with borrowers and syndicate participants.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Review and discuss credit proposals in collaboration with Analysts and Credit team.
  • Prepare and present credit packages to internal credit committees.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

Operational Leadership

  • Develop, review, and enhance department policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Support the development of a high-performing Corporate Banking department.
  • Provide support to Portfolio Management, Credit, Legal, and Risk teams for accurate and timely deal execution.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor performance of the syndicated loan portfolio and identify potential risks.
  • Provide regular market insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Represent the bank in relevant committees, public forums, and client presentations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate lending, syndicated loans, or a similar banking role.

Technical & Functional Competencies

  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and deal structuring.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software tools.

Languages

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required).

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and lead within a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership, committees, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complex client requests and resolve issues with a problem-solving mindset
