POSITION

Full-Time, Salary, Performance-Based Bonus


LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

Required 4 days per week in the office (Mon-Thu). Please do not apply if this does not align with you.


Conventus is seeking an experienced Capital Markets professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the Capital Markets department. This senior leadership role will be responsible for overseeing our capital markets strategy, deal structuring, cash management, and our investor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in capital markets, private debt, and structured finance, with the desire to leverage investor and Sales feedback to drive growth at Conventus.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, fund managers, family offices, and other capital providers
  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's investor base and diversifying funding sources
  • Work with our investors to source new products and expand upon the products that we already offer

Be the Link Between our Sales department and the Capital Markets

  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Sales team. Understand opportunities for improvement and drive change.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments and build a strong network of market participants to identify new lending opportunities

Deal Structuring and Negotiation

  • Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of capital market transactions, including debt facilities, securitizations, and MLPAs (Master Loan Purchasing Agreements)
  • Provide guidance to senior leadership on pricing, terms, and conditions of financing and investor arrangements

Oversee the Funding and Sales of our Loans

  • Strategically allocate loans to our loan buyers and manage all loan sales
  • Manage the funding of our loans between 3 different capital sources, ensuring that we are in compliance with our warehouse lines

Manage our Balance Sheet

  • Closely monitor and plan our cash position, which includes monitoring our pipeline, warehouse lines, upcoming trades and payoffs
  • Maintain a working understanding of all the loans on our balance sheet and in our funds

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the Capital Markets team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Develop internal capabilities and support team growth
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure alignment across all areas of capital markets activity

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving business results
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, credit analysis, and transaction structuring

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets, private lending, or structured finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in private lending or real estate lending preferred
  • Proven experience in raising capital, maintaining investor relationships, and structuring debt transactions

COMPENSATION

Salary range: $185,000 - $235,000 per year (dependent upon experience)

Performance-based bonus
