About the Role:
Whether you're licensed or unlicensed, you'll serve as a vital bridge between our ER team, Client Care Specialists (CCS), and pet parents. You'll help manage patient flow, triage calls, assist with procedures, and ensure every detail is handled with care and accuracy.
This position plays a critical role in creating a calm, supportive, and efficient environment-especially during emotionally charged situations like euthanasias and discharges.
What You'll Do
Coordinate ER triage and communication between departments
Monitor the ER message center and incoming client emails
Support critical and hospitalized patients with timely care
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure invoicing is correct
Attend daily rounds to stay up to speed and relay information to the CCS team
Communicate compassionately with clients throughout their pet's visit
Participate in staff meetings and stay up to date with protocols and schedules
Provide calm and professional support during emergencies, including CPR if needed
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience in veterinary or emergency care
Can recognize signs of distress or behavior changes in animals
Stays organized under pressure and thrives on collaboration
Is detail-oriented and confident using medical records software (we utilize ImproMed)
Communicates clearly and empathetically with both teammates and clients
Is willing to work rotating weekends and holidays
Must have strength and stamina to life approximately 50 pounds, walk dogs weighing up to 130 pounds and work on their feet all day.
Capable of safely working in environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials, infections and zoonotic diseases.
Bonus Skills:
Comfortable with medication handling and discussing at-home care
Familiar with triage protocols and rounding with doctors
Capable of supporting medical boarding patients and performing treatment plans
Enthusiastic about learning and growing in the veterinary field
