The VA OCC RN will coordinate care by corresponding with veterans and providers after reviewing consult requests and medical records.
This is a full time permanent position. We are small, local team offering excellent pay and benefits. We are hiring 20 RNs for this position. This position is expected to close on or before April 6th.
Shifts & Working Hours: VA OCC shifts are 4x10 or 5x8, Monday-Friday 0730 - 1730, closed federal holidays.
Requirements to apply:
- Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
- A minimum of two (2) years direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A list of all states in which the nursing candidate currently holds or has held a license to practice nursing services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The RN assigned to these areas provide direct and indirect nursing care, by contributing to the patient's assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives and evaluating outcomes.
- The position requires independent judgment and nursing actions, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care.
- Clinically review consults/requests for completeness and appropriateness/utilization review.
- Disposition care in the community per utilization review and guidelines.
- Clinical review of incoming medical records documenting communication with ordering providers and PCP.
- Coordination of care- corresponding with veteran, community providers, internal providers/nurses, and admin staff to ensure the care and authorization for care requested is processed.
