Vehicle Control Software Intern
What You Will Do:
  • Work closely with project engineers to develop vehicle motion control and state estimation features
    • These features include one-pedal driving, vehicle mass estimation, smart drive mode control, and trailer sway mitigation
  • Leverage simulation or vehicle tests to validate new control logic and determine performance benefits
  • Contribute to the developmentof new control features for the North American market
  • Provide a demonstration with simulation or vehicle tests
What You Will Bring to the Role:
  • Student pursuing a B.S/M.S./Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or automotive engineering from an accredited university
  • Good understanding of control theory, mechatronic systems, and vehicle dynamics
  • 0 1+ years of experience in (1) developing controls logics and algorithms, (2) testing vehicle motion control systems, (3) designing signal processing and system identification algorithms
  • Knowledge of automotive components, modern propulsion & chassis control systems
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle systems, hybrid/conventional powertrains & related systems
  • Experience in applying control theory in vehicle control systems
  • Hands-on vehicle experience preferred
  • Experience with model-based development tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools,such as CarMaker and CarSim
  • Strong interpersonal and technical problem-solving skills
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
