A Brief OverviewPerforms diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound with documentation of anatomic measurements for abnormal or suspicious anatomy. Performs various cardiac and vascular testing, including stress echo, TEE, carotid, venous, and arterial vascular ultrasound studies. Provides excellent patient care while demonstrating exemplary core customer service skills. Completes accurate documentation of patient medical records. Assigned home facility but covers and floats to Tidelands Health sites as necessary. Serves on-call rotation and responds within 30 minutes to facility to meet patient service needs. Completes other duties as assigned.
What you will do- Ensure accuracy of all patient information as well as physician orders.
- Use proper procedure protocol, scanning technique, annotations of images and anatomy, transducer selection and measurement of anatomy.
- Be effective and efficient in ordering procedures, and scheduling
- Locate medical records in the EMR, enter and complete imaging orders in Witt, locate historical reports in Witt, print medical records from the EMR and Witt, and enter medical record information into Witt.
- Accurately locate patient folders, add and/or correct image annotations, print images and reports, and verify procedures.
- Assure that all patients are shielded (provided the shield does not obscure the anatomy to be imaged), and all assisting visitors, family members, and staff are shielded.
- Utilize API electronic functions to assist with departmental timekeeping accuracy
- Ability and willingness to take "call" and respond within 30 minutes of call to facility.
Education Qualifications- High School Diploma . Required
- Associate's Degree in vascular sonography or cardiovascular technology. Preferred
Experience Qualifications- Minimum of two years on the job training with demonstrated competency. Required
- Prior Echo sonography and Vascular sonography experience. Preferred
Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of scanning techniques required.
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy required.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Medical terminology, required.
Licenses and Certifications- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer . Required or
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer . Required
- Registered Vascular Sonographer . Required or
- Registered Vascular Technologist . Required
- Basic Life Support Certified is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
- Dual credential for echo sonography and vascular sonography Preferred
