Job Description
Overview:

Trinity Academy High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for coaching and developing young athletes, as well as a commitment to fostering a positive team culture and promoting sportsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the athletic program of Trinity Academy and help student-athletes grow both on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the varsity volleyball program, including practices, games, and offseason development.
  • Instill a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and Christ-centered leadership among student-athletes.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs focused on skill development, strength, and conditioning.
  • Oversee game strategy, scouting, and in-game decision-making to maximize team performance.
  • Mentor and develop assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with program values and goals.
  • Engage with the broader Trinity Academy community, including K-12 students, parents, and faculty, to foster school spirit and support for the volleyball program.
  • Assist the middle school and Junior Knights volleyball programs to ensure consistency in skills development in preparation for high school.
  • Organize and run summer camps, clinics, and offseason training opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with KSHSAA regulations and Trinity Academy's athletic policies.
Additional Responsibilities

  1. Team Training and Development:
  • Plan and conduct regular practices focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
  • Provide individualized instruction to players to enhance their technical abilities and understanding of the game.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes mutual respect, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
  • Game Preparation and Strategy:
    • Develop game plans and strategies tailored to the team's strengths and opponents.
    • Analyze game performances to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Player Development and Support:
    • Support the development of student-athletes in their Spiritual growth through daily actions and Bible study, academic success, character development, and personal progress.
    • Serve as a mentor and role model for players, offering guidance and support both on and off the court.
    • Encourage players to set and work towards individual and team goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school administration, and other coaches.
    • Collaborate with coaches and other members of the athletic department to coordinate schedules, share resources, and promote the overall success of the program.
    • Uphold and enforce all school and athletic department policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    Qualification:
    • Commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated in professional and personal life.
    • Previous coaching experience in volleyball at the high school, middle school or club level.
    • Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with players, parents, and colleagues.
    • Passion for working with young athletes and helping them reach their full potential.
    • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
    • Willingness to comply with all school and athletic department policies and regulations.
    Schedule:

    The Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach position is part-time and seasonal, with practices typically held after school on weekdays and games scheduled on evenings and weekends during the volleyball season. The coach will also be expected to attend occasional meetings and events outside of regular practice and game times, including the Trinity summer strength and conditioning program - Forging Knights.
