Description
The highly anticipated Cascade Hotel Kansas City: a Marriott Tribute Portfolio is about to take center stage on the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City's most sought after entertainment district. Boasting 177 guest rooms, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a two-level restaurant plus rooftop bar, this hotel is destined to become the 'go to' spot in Kansas City.
We are in search of a Valet/Bell Attendant that will play a key role in getting this property across the finish line. If you are innovative, tenacious, and ready to make your mark - we want to hear from you.
This position reports to the Valet Manager and is responsible for the following:
- Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm and professional manner, make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise.
- Recognize all returning and VIP guests and welcome them back. When possible, address them by their last name.
- Escort all guests, along with their luggage, checking in to their accommodations following hotel procedure.
- Inform guests about all hotel and guest room features and amenities, hotel facilities and emergency related procedures (i.e. location of stairwells, etc.)
- Assist guests with their luggage and acknowledge them by name.
- Make deliveries to guest rooms, as instructed.
- Store and retrieve luggage and other items for guests. Please make sure to use luggage claim tickets.
- Be aware of daily hotel activities, groups, and VIP arrivals.
- Communicate special guest requests to the Front Office Manager on duty.
- Ensure the lobby, bell closet, and work areas as well as departmental equipment are always clean and presentable.
- Communicates needs to the Front Desk Manager on duty.
- Aid all guests and provide them with requested information and directions, escorting the guest whenever possible.
- Provide exceptional, courteous, friendly, and memorable service to guests and employees.
- When performing Valet Services:
- Park guest vehicles, following all safety standards.
- Ensure that the hotel entrance and exit zones are kept free and clear for guest arrival and in case of an emergency.
- Promptly clear Valet lanes in Porte Cochere of cars to be parked in order to provide emergency vehicle access, if needed.
- Park and retrieve vehicles using valet ticketing system and process.
- Promote and maintain all stages of Marriott's Sincere Service Program with each guest and employee you meet.
- Assist with coordination of Follow and adhere to hotel's parking policy, procedures for cash control, and procedures for inventory.
- Welcome guests upon arrival and departure in a friendly and professional manner.
- Greet all customers by name, take care of their needs, and develop a rapport with each person driving up to your stand.
- Open and close doors for every customer upon arrival and departure.
- Assist guests with luggage from vehicle and to vehicle as necessary.

The associate is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The associate may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The associate will be exposed to cleaning chemicals.

Requirements
- High school diploma/GED This job requires standing and walking for extended periods of time as well as bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Must have a high level of energy.
- Must enjoy working independently.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be willing to complete drug screen and background check in accordance with federal and state laws.
Special Requirements: - Prompt and regular attendance - the hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, and overtime as required.
- Minimum availability of 16 hours per week for part-time employees.
- Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional behavior and appearance standards.
- Carry out all reasonable requests by team leaders and managers and act as a team player with all levels of staff.
- Review and approve electronic timecard weekly for accuracy.
