UX Engineer


Are you excited about building sleek and efficient interfaces for pioneering space missions?


A leading space technology company is looking for a UX Engineer to craft cutting-edge applications that enable satellite control, space exploration, and interplanetary missions. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Irvine, CA, perfect for someone passionate about creating responsive, accessible, and user-centric interfaces for mission-critical operations.


Due to the sensitivity of the work, this position requires onsite presence five days a week in Irvine, CA.


You will need to be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.


As a UX Engineer, you will:


  • Translate designs into production-ready React components.
  • Build and maintain a component library using Storybook.
  • Develop responsive, accessible interfaces with Tailwind CSS.
  • Contribute to the shadcn/ui component ecosystem.
  • Write and maintain end-to-end tests using Playwright or Cypress.
  • Create visual regression tests to ensure consistency.
  • Document component usage and guidelines for seamless integration.
  • Participate in UX reviews and user testing sessions.

What You'll Need:


  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design for complex applications.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a user-centered design process.
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
  • Basic experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience designing for both desktop and mobile interfaces.


Nice to Haves:


  • Experience with Storybook for component documentation.
  • Expertise in Tailwind CSS and component libraries like shadcn/ui.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress.
  • Skills in dark mode interface design, data visualization, and error prevention in critical systems.
  • Experience with design systems and pattern libraries at scale.
  • Background in user research and usability testing.
