JOB TITLE: UTILITY PERSONNEL/LUNCHROOM MONITORJOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Culinary Director of Food Service, the utility personnel/lunchroom monitor will assist in the kitchen with deliveries and storage of food items and supplies as well as assist with monitoring/supervising children during the breakfast and lunch programs. This will ensure a positive safe environment for children to consume their meals.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
- K-8 school experience preferred.
- Obtain or be eligible to pass the assessment for a ServSafe Certification.
- Health examination for new employees part-time or full-time:
- Chapter 122 Article 24-5 of Illinois School Code mandates that School boards shall require of new employees evidence of physical fitness to perform duties assigned and freedom from communicable disease, including tuberculosis. Such evidence shall consist of a physical examination and a tuberculin test and, if appropriate, an x-ray. The cost of such examination shall rest with the employee.
- Must pass a comprehensive drug screening.
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

- Directs movement of students to and from the playground,and cafeteria, and for pickup to return to classrooms in a safe and organized manner.
- Assists in the monitoring, reduction, and management of food waste.
- Cleans and sanitizes tables before and after use by food service personnel.
- Demonstrates the ability to ascend and descend steps.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and write in English for the purpose of laws, codes, rules, policies, and other related matters.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate using the telephone and radio.
- Demonstrates the ability to bend, twist, kneel, and/or stoop.
