Job Title: Project Development Manager - Utility-Scale Solar & Battery Energy Storage (Mid-Continent, Remote)

Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Development Manager to drive the development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects ranging from 80 MW to 350 MW across the Mid-Continent region of the United States. This remote role offers the opportunity to lead projects from inception through permitting, interconnection, and pre-construction phases, working with a cross-functional team to bring large-scale renewable energy projects to fruition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and secure development opportunities for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
- Manage project development activities, including land acquisition, permitting, environmental studies, and interconnection applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, utilities, landowners, and local communities.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure successful milestones.
- Lead due diligence efforts and coordinate with engineering, finance, and construction teams to optimize project viability.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, policy developments, and transmission constraints within the Mid-Continent region.
- Negotiate key agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), land leases, and development contracts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permitting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development, focusing on solar and battery energy storage.
- Strong knowledge of interconnection processes, permitting, and regulatory frameworks in the Mid-Continent region.
- Experience negotiating land agreements, permitting approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, project economics, and risk analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 25%) for site visits, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
