Shift - Monday to Friday; Day shift
What this job involves - The Utilities Mechanic will PM and maintain equipment and pipe distribution systems. The Utilities Mechanic on 1st Shift and is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing facility research support equipment. The Utilities department maintains boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment, heat exchangers, and the various systems that support this equipment.
What is the day to day?
- Perform preventative maintenance on utilities equipment .
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and steam systems, or evaluate the need for outside services.
- Assist in the Preventative Maintenance Program using work orders issued by Supervision and documenting work performed on equipment to maintain operation.
- Adjustments of equipment in a Safe Manner as needed during equipment use.
- Familiar with start-up and shut down processes.
- Ability to use lock out / tag out process to isolate equipment prior to working on unit.
- Adopt JLL's safety culture and adhere to all the policies.
- Complete both in person and computer-based training in a timely manner.
Desired experience and technical skills -
Required
- 3+ years' field experience with trade school training OR 5 years total field experience
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good general computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred
- Stationary Engineer's license (1st grade) is preferred, but not required.
- Facility Maintenance certifications.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods performing site audits
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to access equipment
- May work in confined spaces or at heights
