Your Title: UI/UX Design InternLocation: Lake Oswego, ORThe Central User Experience team at Trimble is looking for a talented and detail-oriented UX/UI Design Intern. The Trimble UX Studio supports an exciting portfolio of software and hardware products for professional users, utilizing emerging and state of the art technologies such as MR/VR, robotics, mobile, and autonomous solutions.

Many of our user personas span the Construction Industry such as architects, structural and civil engineers, as well as contractors who design and install plumbing and electrical systems in buildings. Additionally, we have user personas focused on managing heavy machinery at construction sites, within agricultural fields and in the transportation industry.

Trimble's products put the latest in hardware (e.g., 3D scanners, GPS and GIS, drones, and VR/MR equipment) and software (e.g., 3D modeling software, collaborative platforms, and mobile apps) into the hands of these professionals to make their work more effective and efficient. By doing so, we help construction, agricultural, and transportation industries become more sustainable.

Our Trimble UX Studio is organized around our design system, which ensures our designs are easy to use and consistent across our entire portfolio; and which we continue to grow by feeding new domain-specific patterns back into our libraries. Team members work in small collaborative pods organized by subject matter areas, enabling us to learn from each other and providing support through design reviews, mentoring, and joint brainstorming sessions.

What you will do: As a UI/UX Design Intern, you will be at the forefront of creating engaging and user-friendly interfaces for our digital platforms by playing a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our commercial software products across multiple platforms (desktop, web, mobile, embedded systems). Your responsibilities include conducting user research to understand user needs, creating innovative product and feature concepts, designing user interfaces, and conducting usability testing. Working together with a UX Design professional in Trimble's UX Design Studio, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams, providing detailed design documentation and supporting QA validation to ensure a pixel-perfect implementation.

The internship For the duration of this internship, you will be placed with one or a small number of more senior designers, where you will have the opportunity to support a specific Trimble product. In this role, you will help with the execution of a larger design effort by detailing and delivering high-fidelity designs, and assisting with user research or usability studies. Through this hands-on experience, you will gain valuable exposure to the entire user-centered design process and learn how to fit it into the agile development process. You will also have the opportunity to learn about many other product designs that are supported by the greater team.

Employee Value Proposition (EVP): This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence and improve the user experience of a wide range of software products. You will be at the forefront of designing intuitive and engaging interfaces, contributing significantly to the overall satisfaction and success of our users. Your work will directly impact the look, feel, and functionality of products used by a diverse range of customers, offering a rewarding and creative professional experience.
