28th May, 2025SUMMARY Our client is looking for a motivated and personable Equipment Auction Representative to expand their customer base and increase equipment consignments and sales. This role is focused on building strong relationships with dealers, contractors, farmers, and banks across the United States. Ideally this person would work in the Mid-Atlantic area and can work remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Build and maintain relationships with equipment dealers, contractors, farmers, banks and other potential consigners and/or vendors.
- Reconnect with inactive consignors and/or vendors who have consigned or sold equipment within the past year.
- Guide consigners through the entire consignment process (both onsite & offsite) including contract completion, inputting machines, capturing photos & videos, and questions about payment.
- Ensure all required documentation (titles, bills of sales, etc.) is collected, accurate and submitted in a timely manner for each piece of equipment you consign/sell.
- Purchase equipment directly from customers and/or vendors for resale in company auctions or retail
- Identify and assist with managing off-site auction opportunities from start to finish, including generating leads, finalizing consignment contracts, tagging inventory, capturing pictures & videos, organizing equipment, assisting on auction day & loadout.
- Follow up with consigners and buyers after auctions to ensure their satisfaction, resolve any concerns and build long-term relationships.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote your services, build your professional presence and generate leads for equipment consignments and purchases.
- Travel to customer locations to access equipment, take photos/videos and provide accurate and timely evaluations.
- Attend auctions, as needed, to evaluate and purchase equipment on the company's behalf
- Collaborate with the marketing team to maximize exposure for your equipment.
- Review and verify equipment descriptions in the auction catalog for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, consignments and purchases in the company CRM system.
- Follow all company procedures for purchasing equipment and consigning machines.
- Assist with auction day operations, up to four times a month, by handling phone bids and/or clerking the auction as needed.
- Travel regularly, generally 3 days a week, with occasional overnight and weeklong trips across multiple states.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable.
- 2+ years of sales or customer service experience. Equipment, agricultural or industrial sectors a plus.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally in the field.
- Experience with CRM and social media platforms a plus.
