Job Description

The intern will join a team of 30 personnel responsible for the manufacturing of Elaprase Drug Substance at Takeda's Alewife manufacturing facility. Team is part of the broader MA Bio Ops Manufacturing organization that includes the Lexington site as well.


Job Description:

The intern will be responsible for:

  • Learning, understanding, and leading manufacturing processes, projects, and/or teams as well as support systems that ensure quality and on-time delivery of product in a safe and compliant manner
  • Process improvements to reduce manufacturing deviation
  • Identifying material optimization opportunities
  • Designing a manufacturing cross-training program.

Internship Development Opportunities:

  • Hands-on experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting
  • The intern will gain a general understanding of GMP practices and biologic pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
  • Working in cross-functional teams and collaborate with experienced professionals

Job Requirements:

  • This position will be Fully Onsite and require 4+ days in the Cambridge, MA manufacturing site per week.
  • Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)
  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering
  • Highly reliable and a strong team player
  • Flexible with an attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (STEM, Supply Chain majors preferred)

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates(June 2nd- August 22nd)or(June 16th -August 29th)
    • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00


The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate's school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.


U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
