Position Overview
A South Carolina-based trauma center is seeking a board-certified Urologist to provide hospital-based call coverage. The role requires 24-hour call availability, inpatient consults, and emergency urologic procedures, with no clinic duties. The ideal candidate is trauma-trained, efficient in high-volume settings, and comfortable with complex open procedures. Assignment Highlights
• UroHospitalist model - no clinic
• 24-hour call coverage with rounding and inpatient consults
• Wide range of urologic procedures including stone care, stents, cystoscopy, torsions (including peds), adrenal surgery, hernia repair, nephrectomy (HAL), and endourology
• Must be comfortable with trauma and open procedures, including renal and bladder repair for GSW/stab wounds
• Level I trauma center environment
• EPIC EMR
• No APP support on weekends
• HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency Skills & Experience
• Comfortable with high-acuity trauma cases involving kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs
• Proficient in emergency urologic procedures, including open and laparoscopic techniques
• Experienced in high-volume hospital settings without advanced practice provider support
• Able to independently manage complex inpatient urology cases, including pediatric emergencies
• Effective communicator with the ability to respond quickly to trauma calls and consults Required Credentials
• Board Certified in Urology
• Active South Carolina Medical License
• South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
• Active DEA registration
• No significant malpractice or license actions
