Urologist
Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Division of Urology within the VCU Department of Surgery is the pursuit of excellence in all three areas of an academic surgical practice: teaching, research, and patient care. The Division of Urology is dedicated to the pursuit of diversity in all aspects of our division, including faculty, residents, and staff.
Chief Purpose of this position: Responsible for providing clinical services in general urology at the CMH Campus, including clinic, operative services, and call coverage.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching
Expected to conduct resident grand rounds 1-2 times per year and attend via zoom 60% of the time.
Research
Expected to participate in clinical trials as available.
Service
Expected to serve on departmental and/or health system committees as necessary.
Clinical
Expected to build and maintain a busy patient centered clinical practice with focus on urology, including inpatient and outpatient management of all general urological diagnoses and operative procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from ACGME accredited residency.
Must be board certified in Urology or board eligible.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
