Overview Supports Huntsville Hospital users to provide Unix services. Provides trouble-shooting on Unix workstations and servers. Coordinates the implementation of new Unix systems and workstations, and on the maintenance of existing Unix workstations. Also responsible for formulating backup strategies, Unix security, and the administration of TCP/IP addresses. Responsible for data transfer from/to Unix interface hub.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred with emphasis in Computer Science. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Experience: Five plus years hand on experience in the use and daily maintenance of TSM (Tivoli Back Up Systems), AIX operating systems installation and support, Unix operating systems and support
Additional skills/abilities: Extensive experience in the administration of TSM, AIX, and Unix systems. Extensive experience with the installation and administration of enterprise level storage and storage area network platforms including; Dell/EMC Unity, VNX, Isilon and Storwise. Knowlegde managing Ciso SAN equipment. Hands on experience with the installation and administration of virtual back solutions such as Data Domain. Knowledge of LAN technologies
, particularly communication concepts, protocols (TCP/IP), and techniques. Experience with installation of systems via storage area network (SAN) and disk based backup methodologies. Experience the maintenance , support and installation or IBM pSeries file servers Ability to analyze, and coordinate multiple technologies and concepts effectively. Excellent communication skills and people skills.
