Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Bemidji is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Unit Secretary / Office & Administrative Specialist, Intermediate to join our team. CBHH are 16-bed inpatient psychiatric facilities for adults experiencing a serious mental health episode. The length of stay is usually less than 30 days, during which treatment focuses on stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning involving community support resources, with the overall goal of preventing future episodes.

This position exists to provide clinical support services to patient care units. This includes managing patient medical records, written materials and reports using multiple procedures, including computers and other technical equipment. The Unit Secretary serves as a receptionist to the unit and performs duties and has responsibilities that are essential to the operations of the unit.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Communication skills Communicate respectfully with patients and relays messages between patient and staff.
  • Customer Service skills sufficient to Greet visitors and provides assistance and direction as needed. Answer phone, direct calls, take and convey messages between units, other departments, community facilities, and unit staff.
  • Data entry performance sufficient to enter medical record data accurately
  • Database, documents, and records management experience to organize medical record at time of admission and prepare medical record for patient transfers or discharges.
  • Possession of valid drivers license sufficient to operate a state vehicle for transportation needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with building/equipment maintenance workorder systems and learning management systems.
  • 1 to 3 years of office management experience with medical records management
  • Experience providing clerical or office support in a healthcare setting, such as hospital, clinic, or nursing home.
