We are looking for a Unit Manager/Coordinator to take care of our amazing patients.The Unit Manager/Coordinator in this position functions as both a team member and a team leader. They are responsible for providing personal nursing care to the residents, and leadership to the nursing staff to ensure that care standards are met, and that the highest degree of quality care is provided at all times.

Direction is given to Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurses, and other staff members. Supervision is received from the Registered Nurse Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and/or Administrator

Responsibilities and Duties may include:

Assist in orientation and training of new employees and participation in their ongoing training

Provide direction to and manage the nursing staff regarding resident care. Recommend disciplinary action, if necessary

Develop and communicate shift assignments for nursing staff and monitor job performance to assure that staff are performing their work assignments within acceptable nursing standards

Communicate with nursing staff at shift change on resident conditions, needs, and concerns

Ensure that all nursing staff follow established departmental policies and procedures

Provide input regarding GNA annual evaluations

Periodically meet on scheduled basis to assist identifying and correcting problem areas and suggest improvements

Assess the needs of new residents and inform staff of new resident arrivals

Make daily resident visits to observe and evaluate resident's physical and emotional status and revise care plan accordingly

Interact with medical staff, nursing staff, resident, family members, and other visitor regarding resident condition

Conduct/monitor medication passes and treatments to assure that resident care plan requirements are met

Ensure that all resident care is provided in a dignified and respectful manner

Ensure that all nursing staff is knowledgeable of resident's rights and responsibilities

Provide input in the resident MDS and care planning

Participate in quality assurance activities

Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations

Preforms general nursing duties as needed in cases of emergency and/ or staffing shortages

Qualifications and Requirements

RN licensure preferred, will consider LPN with management experience
