We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Underwriting in Real Estate Finance to support our Senior Banker/Originator and the deal team. In this role, you will manage client relationships, originate and evaluate new business opportunities, and oversee the transaction process, which includes due diligence, underwriting, and credit approval. You will also manage third-party transaction consultants and underwriting support vendors. Additionally, you will collaborate with our capital markets and distribution teams to support securitization or syndication efforts, ensuring all transactions comply with our Lending Policy, Credit Policy & Procedures, Underwriting guidelines, and relevant business procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare initial underwriting analyses for each deal based on loan submission packages and available market data. Present findings to the capital markets and distribution team for pricing, and to the business line for review.
- Lead the underwriting and execution of signed deals through closing, collaborating with clients and third-party due diligence providers to address all questions and issues. Work closely with internal teams such as pricing, credit, legal, and KYC to ensure timely progress toward closing.
- Prepare Asset Summary Reports and underwriting models for portfolios and securitizations, leveraging support from underwriting vendors.
- Support the capital markets and distribution team during the syndication or securitization process by addressing investor or rating agency inquiries and assisting in the development of syndication or securitization materials.
- Maintain accurate deal data in various databases and workflow management systems.
- Ensure all transactions are executed in compliance with the Lending Policy, Credit Policy & Procedures, Underwriting guidelines, and Business Procedures of the Real Estate Holdings (REH) platform.
Client Coverage:
- Maintain ongoing communication with client accounts.
- Interact with brokers and clients to provide deal feedback and manage expectations effectively.
New Business Development:
- Assist in managing the deal flow pipeline, including the review and analysis of new loan requests, and present insights to the business line.
Portfolio Management and Loan Servicing:
- Collaborate with Capital Markets, Syndication, and Asset Management teams to address due diligence inquiries from B-piece buyers, rating agencies, and syndication partners.
Platform Support:
- Contribute to the Real Estate platform by improving processes and procedures, as well as participating in special projects aimed at enhancing the platform's overall performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; a degree with a concentration in real estate is preferred.
- A minimum of six years of experience in a bank or non-bank commercial real estate (CRE) lending platform is preferred.
- Strong foundation in commercial real estate analysis and valuation.
- Proficient financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Argus and Rockport is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
- Must hold SIE, Series 46, and Series 63 licenses.

The salary range for this position will be between $175,000 - $225,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
