The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: GENERAL PURPOSE
Serves as Undergraduate Program Administrator; Undergraduate Curriculum Committee/ABET Administrator; and Academic Advisor for the BME undergraduates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Counseling
- Provides moral and academic support to undergraduate students
- Maintains and provides information for special learning opportunities (internships, study abroad, etc)
- Has daily email contact with undergraduate students communicating internship opportunities, UR academic resources, events
- Tracks each student's academic progress with both UR Student and FileMaker databases to ensure timely advancement through BME curriculum
- Administers Sophomore Major Declaration process with BME Undergraduate Chair
Administration
- Meets weekly with BME Undergraduate Chair to resolve problems, set UGC/ABET committee agenda, review UGC petitions, organize BME UG events, update documents
- Arranges two pre-registration sessions per academic year for students and faculty.
- Provide BME Faculty with their advisees' FMP Advising Sheets for review prior to session
- Reconciles Senior Audits with UR Registrar and Hajim Dean's office, checking three times per year to ensure students remain on track for graduation
- Collaborates with Admissions for prospective student events; Hajim School Dean's office for GEAR program events; arrange interviews with professors as well as tours/info sessions of BME program
- Administers Curriculum Course Build in UR Student each semester for BME Undergraduate and Graduate programs
Other Departmental Duties
- Responsible for all aspects of Undergraduate Student Employment
- Process Undergraduate TA stipends
- Works with BMES students to coordinate special events (BMES Annual Banquet; BME Picnic
- BMES Student Newsletter; BME Info Sessions (Internships, Study Abroad, BME Concentration Panel, Graduate School)
- Organizes BME Departmental Graduation ceremony (Open house, Order of the Engineer, AEMB membership, diploma ceremony)
- Collaborates with Marketing, Communications and Outreach Manager for website and brochure updates
- Maintains meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, task lists relating to the undergraduate curriculum and ABET
- Coordinates curriculum review meetings (CRM) each semester
- Assists ABET Chair with collecting and organizing ABET materials (faculty CV's; course syllabi
- All undergraduate curriculum information) and store for ABET review every six years
- Attends monthly Hajim Undergraduate Coordinators' meeting
- Attends monthly BME Faculty meeting
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Required
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of relevant experience required
