PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the performs a variety of ultrasound procedures to assist in medical diagnosis and assessment.

- Adult/Pediatric Inpatient and outpatient services
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the Echocardiogram Technician level I may include, but are not limited to:
- The ability to perform all of the major duties and functions of an Echocardiogram Technician including but not limited to Transthoracic echocardiogram, bubble study, strain imaging, Definity and stress echocardiogram.
- All laboratory duties delegated by the Director of Cardiology and Lead Sonographer
- Delegation, when warranted, of specific responsibilities to the technical and/or ancillary staff.
- Operation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
- Supervision of sonography students.
- Working collaboratively with the Medical Director, lead sonographer, medical, nursing, administrative and technical staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Responsible to maintain current technical training for his/her position to include at the very least 30 hours of echocardiograph related continuing education over a period of three (3) years, and all hours must be relevant to echocardiography; participate in the echocardiographic departmental conferences and in quality assurance activities; and yearly accumulated continuing education must be kept on file and available for submission upon request.
- Appropriate credentialing in echocardiography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
