Job Summary

The UI Design Engineer serves as a key resource in development and evolution of our product, MCIM, serving primarily the MCIM Labs team. and custom client extensions. This role requires an ability to work both independently and with a team to deliver high quality software with a strong user experience and rigorous standardization for data science applications.

You will be successful in the role if you:

UI/UX Design & Prototyping

• Design intuitive user flows that integrate AI and data inference capabilities, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.

• Build rapid interactive mockups using Figma and modern web development frameworks (React, Material UI, Next.js with Typescript).

• Validate design behavior in real environments and refine based on hands-on testing.

Human-Centered AI Design

• Define how users interact with agentic and LLM-based systems.

• Ensure transparency, trust, and explainability in AI-driven user experiences.

• Create meaningful experiences within enterprise SaaS and LLM-based conversational workflows.

User Testing & Feedback Integration

• Conduct rapid usability tests and stakeholder reviews.

• Translate feedback into actionable design improvements in short iteration cycles.

Content Creation & General Copywriting

• Populate your designs with realistic content using large language models to help with microcopy, UX writing, and content generation that concisely and potently articulates how our AI and data enabled functionality uniquely addresses customer value and pain points.

• Ensure content communicates the unique value and functionality of AI and data features clearly and concisely.

Ad-Hoc & Project-Specific Contribution

• Lead UI/UX efforts for initiatives like the Intelligent Bulletins Early Adopter Program, ensuring seamless end-user interaction with new experimental features.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Design Expertise

• Strong foundation in UI design standards, accessibility, color theory, typography, grid layout, and responsive design.

• Ability to work with and contribute to design systems and design-to-code pipelines.

Tools & Technologies

• Design: Expert in Figma (including interest in Figma Make and Figma Sites); experience with AI-assisted tools like Magician, Galileo AI, Uizard, Lovable.

• Development: React, Next.js, Material UI, Typescript, Node.js, Express.js.

• Prototyping: Familiarity with design library systems and prototyping integrations.

• Package Managers: npm, Yarn.

Conversational Interfaces

• Experience in designing for LLM-driven chatbots, agentic interfaces, and voice-enabled interactions is a strong plus.

Collaboration & Communication

• Ability to collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and AI researchers to deliver technically feasible and user-centered solutions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Platform Experience

• Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem, including Salesforce LWC and SLDS2, is a plus.
