Goal : Recruit and register an initial cohort of 600 teens to attend the TUMO LA Center for Creative Technologies and manage and maintain community engagement channels such as social media and newsletters.


Location : in person in North Hollywood


Hours: 20hrs per week

TUMO serves 30,000 teens each week across 9 countries, including locations in Paris, Berlin, Zurich, Lyon, Yerevan and Kyiv among others. TUMO LA is the first US based TUMO center with funding from the State of California and the City of LA. TUMO students are between the ages of 12 and 18 and attend TUMO centers to learn skills at the intersection of technology and design, completely free of charge.


TUMO is looking for a dynamic community engagement manager to lead student recruitment efforts and manage TUMO LA's social media. TUMO LA currently has a waiting list of 600 students, your role will be to add to this list and ensure that at least 600 students convert to registered and attending students when the center launches this summer.


TUMO is committed to serving traditionally underserved teens and the community engagement manager will play a critical role in reaching these communities through outreach and key stakeholder engagement. The role is highly operational and will require excellent planning and decision making skills along with a bias toward communication and action. Success will be measured based on a number of KPIs but the most critical will be the number of students on our waitlist, number of instagram followers and most importantly, the number of students registered for the program.


Responsibilities - TUMO LA

  • Ensure that 600 students are enrolled prior to TUMO's summer launch
  • Maintain social media channels, focusing on Instagram, LinkedIn, tiktok and instagram.
  • Manage multiple engagement events each week to spread awareness of TUMO among local teens and parents.
  • Update content on the TUMO website

Requirements

  • Comfortable talking with teens and parents promoting TUMO
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating social media marketing content including video, photography and graphic design (your portfolio will be requested)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, low structure, startup environment
  • Fluency in Spanish is heavily preferred
  • Familiarity with wordpress websites is a plus
