Second Shift Monday- Wednesday, 5:00 pm to 5:30 am Position Summary The Tube Bender Operator is responsible for setting up and operating tube bending machinery to fabricate metal tubing components used in the production of Palmer Hamilton products. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and job orders to ensure high-quality output that meets engineering specifications and production goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual or CNC tube bending machines to bend metal tubing to required specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production drawings to determine machine settings, tooling, and material requirements.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to ensure conformance with drawings and quality standards.
• Make necessary machine adjustments and perform minor maintenance to maintain safe and effective operation.
• Ensure correct tubing sizes, materials, and bend angles are used per the job order.
• Accurately record production data, quantities, and any non-conformances.
• Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with company safety and 5S standards.
• Work collaboratively with other team members in the fabrication department to meet daily production targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Fabrication Supervisor. Qualifications Required:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and calipers.
• 1+ years of experience operating tube bending equipment or similar machinery in a manufacturing setting. Preferred:
• Experience with CNC tube bending machines.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and quality control systems.
• Forklift certification or willingness to become certified. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate footwear as required. Work Environment This position works primarily on the production floor and may be exposed to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.
