Job Description
Mentoring: Oversee and train two other network administrators or engineers to help them develop their skills.
Network Design and Planning: Work with different teams to plan and design networks that fit operational needs. Understand VoIP phone systems, including desktop and software-based phones, call routing, voicemail, and collaboration tools. Create detailed plans and diagrams for how the network will be set up.
Setting Up Networks: Install and configure hardware and software like routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Have a good understanding of how to integrate VoIP systems into enterprise networks. Follow industry standards for proper setup.
Keeping Networks Secure: Protect the network from cyber threats using tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls. Watch for unusual activity and handle security issues when they come up.
Improving Network Performance: Monitor how the network is working, find any slow or problematic areas, and tweak settings to make it run more efficiently.
Fixing Problems: Troubleshoot complex network issues such as connection problems or hardware failures. Work with other teams and vendors to find solutions. Analyze network traffic to figure out whats going wrong.
Updating Equipment: Plan and carry out upgrades to network hardware and software. Apply updates and security patches to keep everything stable and safe.
Monitoring the Network: Use tools to keep an eye on the network and quickly fix problems. Make sure network devices are set up correctly, regularly checked, and backed up.
Keeping Records: Maintain organized and detailed documents about the network, including diagrams, settings, and procedures, for easy reference.
Planning for Future Growth: Evaluate how much capacity the network will need over time. Design solutions that can handle more traffic and new demands as the organization grows.
Teamwork: Work closely with other IT teams to make sure the network works smoothly with other systems and services.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- 10+ years of experience as network Engineer
- Experience being a leader
- Must be comfortable being client facing
- Top Secret Clearance or Q Clearance - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
