TS Cleared Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

A client in the Herndon, VA area is looking for Secret Cleared Embedded Software Engineer to join their team. They will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the firmware and software code for spacecraft bus avionics, spacecraft payloads, and ground support equipment. Must be comfortable cross-compiling to separate targets, and testing/developing on highly embedded systems. This person will work alongside a tight knit group of engineers that specialize in spacecraft payload and system development (especially in the confines of implementing very large amounts of functionality in extremely small, power-constrained environments); unique system development; ground control and operational software development; embedded software development; and unique cyber capabilities. This role is fully onsite working on a 9/80 schedule.

Skills and Requirements

-Ability to obtain a TS clearance

-Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field

-Embedded Software Engineer experience coding in C programming language (and/or C )

-12 YOE with a bachelor's degree, 10 YOE with a masters, or 7 YOE with a Phd

-Experience working in a Linux environment (command line, GCC, Makefiles, shell scripting)

-Experience with satellite system design life cycle, including spacecraft level environment testing, launch, and operations -FPGA experience null
