Job Description: As a Remote Trust and Estates Attorney, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance to clients on a range of matters, including trust formation, estate planning, probate, and related issues. You will work closely with clients to ensure their estates are properly managed and help navigate the complexities of estate administration. This is a client-focused role where attention to detail, empathy, and professional expertise are key.
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on trust and estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
Draft, review, and update estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
Represent clients in probate and trust administration proceedings.
Guide clients through estate disputes, tax implications, and asset protection strategies.
Collaborate with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to create comprehensive estate plans.
Keep clients informed about changes in laws affecting estate planning and probate.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of client interactions and legal advice.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.
3 years of experience in trust and estate law, including estate planning and probate administration.
In-depth knowledge of New Jersey trust and estate laws, including related tax issues.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload remotely.
High attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with elder law, Medicaid planning, or charitable giving.
Prior remote work experience is a plus.
Familiarity with estate planning software and legal technology.
