Position Summary
Internal Truck Driver to transport raw materials and finished goods between the company production facility and storage and distribution warehouse (approximately 3.5 miles apart). Must have Class B license and be able to drive a forklift to load/unload at each location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Accurately track and maintain inventory levels. Conduct regular stock counts and update inventory records in the warehouse management system.
- Order Processing: Efficiently process incoming and outgoing, including picking, packing, labeling, and dispatching products. Ensure accuracy in order of fulfillment.
- Quality Control: Inspect goods for damage or defects. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor to ensure only the highest quality products are sent to customers.
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods from delivery trucks using appropriate equipment. Ensure goods are stored in the correct location within the warehouse.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse environment clean and organized. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
- Equipment Handling: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Record Keeping: Accurately maintain all necessary records, including inventory, stock movements, and damage reports.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other team members and departments to optimize warehouse operations. Communicate effectively with the logistics and supply chain teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and effectiveness.
- Other assignments given by supervisor or management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
- Valid driver's license (Class B) with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or driving role preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to enter and track data in spreadsheets/software program
- Documentation skills to record weights and lot numbers
- Strong organization skills
- The role may require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Exposure to varying temperature conditions depending on the warehouse environment.
- May require overtime during peak periods
Education & Experience
- Experience: Driving: 4 years
