Job Overview
A well-established law firm specializing in consumer protection and Lemon Law litigation is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will have over 10 years of litigation experience, including substantial first-chair trial experience, and will be passionate about consumer advocacy. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead trial efforts, work on high-profile cases, and collaborate within a dynamic team. The role involves representing consumers in claims against automobile manufacturers and dealers, driving consumer-focused litigation strategy, and achieving favorable trial outcomes.
Duties
- Lead trial strategy and serve as first chair in trial proceedings.
- Conduct and oversee complex legal research in support of litigation cases.
- Interface with specialized outside counsel on behalf of clients.
- Draft and file motions, oppositions, and legal briefs on novel and complex legal issues.
- Represent clients in court hearings for motions and oppositions.
- Conduct depositions of key witnesses, including executives, technical experts, and others.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement and improve firm policies and client communication strategies.
- Address and resolve legal issues in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of litigation and trial experience.
- Proven record of multiple successful jury and bench trials as first chair.
- Strong experience in Arbitration, Coordinated Proceedings, and Multi-District Litigation is preferred.
- Excellent client communication and relationship management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, timekeeping software, and client file management systems.
- Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds as needed.
Education
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications
- Licensed attorney, member of the California Bar in good standing.
