We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Traveling Installation Superintendent to oversee our installation projects across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial architectural millwork and a proven track record of managing crews ranging from 10 to 30 members.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise installation projects from start to finish, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Lead teams of skilled installers, providing direction, support, and training to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure design specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, addressing any issues or changes promptly.
  • Prepare daily reports on project progress and resolve any challenges that may arise.

Site Management & Supervision:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of project sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of subcontractors, workers, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality work.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers, identifying and addressing potential issues or delays.
  • Ensure that all work is being performed according to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment for all site personnel.
  • Address any safety violations immediately and report incidents or near misses in a timely manner.

Scheduling & Planning:

  • Create, maintain, and update project schedules, ensuring timely completion of key milestones and project deadlines.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, ensuring they arrive on time to keep the project moving forward.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may cause delays in the project schedule.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect work completed by subcontractors and workers, ensuring that quality standards and project specifications are met.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is maintained for inspections, punch lists, and other project-related records.
  • Conduct periodic walk-throughs to assess project progress and quality of work.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project management, contractors, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, identify concerns, and provide solutions to any challenges.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to workers and subcontractors, ensuring that tasks are understood and executed properly.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor and control the use of materials and resources to prevent unnecessary costs or waste.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs, reporting to project managers as necessary.

Documentation Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including daily progress reports, change orders, and safety documentation.
  • Organizing and archiving project documentation for future reference and audit purposes.
  • Providing documentation to support claims, change requests, or disputes that may arise during or after the project.
  • Ensuring that all project documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant regulations and contractual requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial architectural millwork installation, with a focus on supervision.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing crews of 10-30.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with Blue Beam Revu.

Travel:

  • Frequent travel required to jobsite.
  • Multi-state travel may be required.
