Responsibilities - Interprets and puts into effect company clinical guidelines policies, systems and administrative policies related to the nursing department. - Have the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for all functions, activities and training of Nursing Service department while acting as Director of Nursing - May serve in the position of other nurse management positions including Charge Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing and Resident Assessment Coordinator - Assumes administrative authority and responsibility for the facility in the absence of theAdministrator. - Plans and directs, in cooperation with other nursing supervisory personnel, effective administration of nursing unit and patient care given based on the established goals, objectives, clinical guidelines and policies and procedures of the center. - Interviews, hires, councils and terminates Nursing Department personnel in conjunction with other center administrative personnel and according to the policies and procedures of the company. - Works with the Administrator and Nursing Administration to determine staffing requirements based on current needs. - Assists facilities in maintaining budget compliance related to clinical services such as food costs, staffing and supplies. - Attends department head meetings and coordinates activities of Nursing Services with other departments of the facility. - Completes reports and participates in required committee meetings in the center. Facilitates and is responsible for completion Clinical Start Up in center assigned. - Establishes and ensures a standard of quality assessment, documentation and medical intervention to provide quality clinical care to all patients/residents. - Participates in the dissemination of information related to company programs and initiatives. - Is a member of the monthly QAPI committee and involved in Quality Improvement initiatives as identified or assigned - Participates in the evaluation and development of systems utilized in the delivery of clinical services. - Has understanding of current Federal and State regulations and interprets and teaches the same in assigned center. Qualifications + Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed with a minimum of 5 years of general nursing experience + 2 years of long term care experience in management, administrative, consultation, and survey process. Success is defined as a clear, demonstrated history of quality resident care management. + Past experience as a Director of Nursing or other senior nursing management roles. + Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work on-site in numerous centers located in AL, KS, MS, TN, & TX. + Ability and willingness to assume various job functions in a center; i.e., DNS, ADNS, RN Clinical Educator, MDS Coordinator.
