Job Description: Registered Nurse - Wound Care
Facility: Cozad Community Hospital
Location: 300 E 12th St, Cozad, NE 69130
Job Type Type: Travel (First-time travelers accepted)
Job Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
Shift & Schedule:

  • Shift Type: Day Shift (4x10 hours, 08:00 AM - 06:00 PM)
  • Call Requirement: Yes (on-call shifts as needed)
  • Weekend Shifts: As needed
  • Block Scheduling: Not available

Compensation:
  • Weekly Gross: $3,004.00 Per Week
  • On W2(Taxable): $800.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
  • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,204.00 Per Week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care for individuals with acute and chronic wound conditions, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
  • Perform wound assessments, including measurement, documentation, and evaluation of healing progress.
  • Administer wound care treatments, including debridement, dressing changes, and application of wound care products.
  • Educate patients and families on wound management, prevention strategies, and proper use of medical supplies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
  • Monitor for signs of infection, complications, and adverse reactions to treatments.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing wound care and first aid as necessary.

Requirements:
  • Current RN License (Nebraska or Compact License)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably with wound care focus
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Strong knowledge of wound care techniques, infection control, and patient safety protocols

Preferred:
  • Certification in Wound Care (CWCN, CWS, or equivalent)
  • Experience with advanced wound care products and technologies
  • Familiarity with pressure ulcer assessment and prevention techniques
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
