Job Details - INeuro Trauma ICU RN
- Start Date: ASAP (4 weeks from offer for compliance requirements)
- Orientation for this unit will be held bi-weekly on Mondays
- Shift: 3x12 Nights
- Ratios: 1:2
- Minimum of six months critical care experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire
- Preferred: Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma preferred
- Epic Experience REQ? 1 year of Epic experience is required
- First-Timers Accepted: Would prefer an experienced traveler with 2-3 prior completed assignments
- Weekend REQ: must be flexible, scheduled based on unit needs
- Skills REQ: Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure, Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, IV insulin protocols, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, and Temp pacers
- Travelers float between CVICU and NTICU. Also float to Telemetry, Acute Care (neurology, Surgical, Ortho/Med) Obs, ED boarding; Float in turns
- Open to accommodating block schedule? Looking for a flexible candidate
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: GIB, ETOH withdraw, DKA, Sepsis, Covid, ARDS, CHF, CKD, AKI, Donor, Post cardiac arrest, Psychiatric symptoms, MSOF, CVA, ICH
- Common Equipment: Pa Catheters, right and left Impellla, ventilators, Cheeta, CRRT, and IABP, and Zoll cooling catheter, and Artic Sun pads
- Our ICU is very busy with a wide range of patient populations including medical, cardiac, neuro, trauma etc.
Job Requirements - BLS, ACLS, TNCC/TCAR, NIHSS are required
- Minimum of six months critical care experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required
- Epic Experience REQ? 1 year of Epic experience is required
- Preferred: Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma preferred
- Must sign SS verification release
- Valid state licensure/certification as required for services being performed
- Stroke CEUs are required for all RNs and may be required for specific Inpatient Therapists
- NIH is required for ED, Cath Lab, ICU, CV Surgery (not CVOR), MS/Tele, Neurology and Techs (Cath Lab and Imaging)
- Required for ICU. They can complete the TNCC or TCAR

Additional Details - Must sign SS verification release
- AHA, MTN, or Canadian AHA required. ACLS is required for ICU, ER, PCU, Cath Lab, PACU, Tele, Respiratory Therapists
- Stroke CEUs are required for all RNs and may be required for specific Inpatient Therapists
- NIH is required for ED, Cath Lab, ICU, CV Surgery (not CVOR), MS/Tele, Neurology and Techs (Cath Lab and Imaging)
