Position Overview
This role requires participation in additional on-call hours, averaging 70-80 hours over a 4-week period, with a required response time of 30 minutes. The position is structured as four 10-hour shifts per week, plus on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver intraoperative patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Assist in surgical procedures under the direction of physicians, registered nurses, and other operating room personnel.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure all aseptic techniques are followed throughout procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms by gathering and setting up all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Pass instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies to the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
- Provide direct patient care in a sterile environment across a range of surgical specialties.
