Start Date: April 14, 2025 Job Duration: 13 Weeks Compensation and Benefits:
• Weekly Gross: $1,973.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($18/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,253.00 Per Week Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Surgical Tech / OR Tech to join the Operating Room team at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, FL. This role requires strong experience in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries. The successful candidate will work primarily in the Operating Room and must have experience not only in harvesting organs but also in transplanting organs into the new patient. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Misonix/CUSA equipment, as this will be an integral part of the role. A strong background in transplant surgeries, particularly in liver and kidney transplants, is required. The role requires a Day shift (4x10-hour) schedule, with potential flexibility for additional transplant surgeries, as well as being available for on-call responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of the operating room for procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are sterilized and available.
• Provide direct assistance to the surgical team during transplant and other complex surgeries, ensuring all instruments are handled safely and efficiently.
• Perform essential tasks during transplant procedures, including organ transplantation (liver, heart, lung, kidney), ensuring the proper placement of organs into the new patient.
• Have expertise in Misonix/CUSA equipment and be familiar with the intricacies of transplant surgeries.
• Assist in ensuring a sterile environment in the operating room and adherence to all infection control protocols.
• Monitor and report any changes during the procedure that may impact patient safety or surgical outcomes.
• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to provide high-quality care during surgical procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Document all required data related to surgical procedures, including instruments used and any complications or deviations.
• Maintain the equipment and instruments used during surgeries, ensuring they are functioning properly and ready for use. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of OR Tech / Surgical Tech experience, specifically in liver and organ transplant surgeries. Experience in performing both harvesting and transplanting organs. Certifications:
• National Certification (NBSTSA and/or NCCT) is recommended.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Skills & Competencies:
• Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment is required.
• Ability to handle complex transplant surgeries with a focus on patient safety and sterile technique. Additional Requirements:
• Must be able to float within the hospital as needed.
• Must be comfortable working in a smoke-free facility and adhere to all related health policies.
• No pending licenses will be accepted.
• Must be willing to undergo a 10-panel drug screen (including nicotine testing) as part of the hiring process.
