SLP (Speech Language Pathologist) 1 year recent experience required
- Unit: Speech Therapy Boise Hospital Flr 1 SLP ACUTE - PEDS, PICU, NICU - of patients treated per day: 8-10. 2-5 therapists per day. - General Certification Requirements: BLS - Other Required certs for all SLP: CCC-SLP and State Licensure - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Neurologic-CVA, MS, Parkinson, Guillain Barre, cranial surgeries, spinal surgeries, only thing we don't typically TBI; general medical, orthopedic-total joints, fractures; cardiac-pacers, CABG, valve replacements; oncology, don't see transplant patients. - Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient?: Acute Inpatient, OP MBSS (modified barium swallow study)/VFSS (video fluoroscopic swallow study). - What areas are they required to cover: Acute Inpatient, OP MBSS/VFSS. - Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Must have 1 year of acute experience as an CCC-SLP and proficiency in performing MBSS/VFSS. Okay with first time traveler. Must be able to evaluate and treat both dysphagia and cognitive deficits. Proficiency in performance of MBSS/VFSS FEES (fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation) also available but not required. - EMR: EPIC - Is there a SLP Manager/Supervisor on each shift: Manager - Do you staff Rehab Aides: Rehab Aides (no SLAs) - Shifts & Scheduling: 4, 10 hour days per week 8 week schedule, try to work with requests, no self scheduling. - Weekend Requirements: 2 weekend days per month. allow for more weekends if a weekend schedule is preferred. - Holiday Requirements: No - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color scrubs or business casual accepted. - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: Yes: System orientation, orientation/training class for documentation, orientation to hospital and department . This all occurs over the first 3-5 days.
