A Med Surg Telemetry RN, or Registered Nurse, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of medical conditions, including those with cardiac issues monitored by telemetry. They assess patients, administer medications, monitor vital signs and telemetry data, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify and address patient needs, including those with cardiac conditions.
- Telemetry Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs, including heart rhythm, using telemetry equipment and interpreting the data to identify potential problems.
- Medication Administration:
- Accurately administer medications, focusing on those related to cardiac care and other medical conditions.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Emergency Response:
- Act swiftly and appropriately in response to changes in patient condition, including initiating life-saving measures.
- Care Planning:
- Participate in developing and updating individualized care plans, ensuring they meet the specific needs of each patient.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Collaboration:
- Work e?ectively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support sta? to ensure coordinated and optimal patient care.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIHSS (National Institute of Stroke Scale) Certification.
- Experience in medical-surgical settings, preferably with telemetry experience.
? Ability to interpret EKG readings and understand cardiac rhythms.

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
