Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner - UP
Location: Urbana, IL
Hours: 3x12 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM - 36 Hours
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Job Responsibilities: - Disassemble, clean, rinse, dry, and package respiratory equipment
- Evaluate respiratory care outcomes and adjust care plans accordingly
- Act as a clinical role model by demonstrating sound judgment and technical skill
- Prepare, test, and maintain respiratory equipment for safety and functionality
- Report equipment malfunctions to the manager
- Accurately document in EMR (electronic medical records), including care plans and flow sheets
- Perform and document patient assessments, including ventilator and respiratory therapy patients
- Recommend further interventions or referrals as needed
- Record procedures and patient responses, especially for sleep therapy compliance
- Communicate adverse effects and patient compliance to physicians and practitioners
- Deliver respiratory therapy services in inpatient units and the emergency room
- Obtain and analyze blood gases (arterial, venous, and capillary)
- Assist with cleaning equipment and stocking respiratory supplies
Education: - Associate's degree in respiratory therapy
Certifications & Licensure: - BLS (American Heart Association)
- Illinois RCP License
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist
