Job Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - RRT-NICU
Location: Providence Portland Medical Center - 4805 NE Glisan St, Portland, OR 97213.
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Compensation:
• Weekly Gross: $2,302.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,582.00 Per Week
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Providence Portland Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have NICU and ICU experience, although NICU experience is not required. The primary responsibilities will involve providing respiratory therapy care in both the NICU and ICU settings. Candidates with ICU experience are strongly encouraged to apply. The schedule involves 3x12-hour shifts on nights, with every other weekend commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Respiratory Therapy to NICU and ICU patients, including mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory treatments.
• Monitor patients' respiratory status and make adjustments as necessary.
• Administer neonatal respiratory therapy (if experienced), ensuring the safe delivery of oxygen therapy, intubation, and monitoring of infant patients.
• Perform assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and document treatments in the Epic charting system.
• Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Float between units as needed.
• Maintain equipment and supplies required for respiratory treatments.
• Perform patient care with compassion and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
• OR State RRT license.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RRT, preferably in an ICU setting. NICU experience.
• Certifications:
o RRT Certification (Required)
o BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (Required)
• Skills:
o Experience in both NICU and ICU respiratory therapy preferred, or ICU experience will be considered.
o Strong understanding of neonatal and adult respiratory care techniques.
o Familiarity with Epic charting and patient documentation.
• Ratios: 1:15 patient-to-therapist ratio.
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend.
• Float Requirement: Yes, between units and potentially to nearby affiliate hospitals.
