Job Details - Respiratory Therapist position at Geisinger Health System. Assesses patients' respiratory care needs and plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates treatment modalities to meet those needs. Provides optimal customer interaction and performs various respiratory modalities including medication administration, secretion management, pulmonary volume expansion, oxygen therapy. Initiates and manages ventilators, provides patient and family education, assists in intra-hospital transport of patients, responsible for acute airway management, and supports medical teams with procedures like fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
Job Requirements - Graduate from Specialty Training Program- (Required). Must demonstrate consistent performance and documentation of thorough patient assessments, establish care plans and communicate effectively with the care team. Experience in clinical environment and in department-specific roles.
Schedule Information - Full time, 36 hours/week, 3-12 hour shifts/week, including every other weekend and holiday. Hours: 7am-7:30pm.
Unit Specific Information - NICU experience preferred. Therapist autonomy and protocol-driven care are emphasized. The role includes functioning as a preceptor for orientees and students in their clinical rotation.
