Med/Surge Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
Responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
Preparing and administering prescribed medications and reporting adverse reactions.
Educating patients on surgical procedures.
Recording patients' medical information and vital signs.
Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients.
Initiating corrective action for adverse symptomatology.
Providing bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
Initiating patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs.
Preparing equipment and aiding physicians during examination and treatment.
Responding to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
Participating in discharge planning.
Utilizing time management skills.
Recording all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.
Performing other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
This position is for the Riverton campus.

Must have Wyoming RN license.
Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
