- State Licensure relevant to Illinois
Job Details - Administers contrast material according to physician's request by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line.
- Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
- Anticipates set-up and needs for invasive procedures.
- Assists with inventory/supplies.
- Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
- Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
- Administers medication in compliance with scope of practice.
- Documents accurately and completely.
- Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
- Performs all essential functions of the Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist.
- Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
- Required to float to all procedural areas.
- Maintains a clean and neat work area.
- Demonstrates competence in the operation of imaging, physiological monitoring, and related equipment.
- Performs basic troubleshooting for this equipment.
- Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
- Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
- Assesses patients for allergies.
- Functions as a scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures.
- Assists physician during interventional procedures.
- Able to take call after 6 months of orientation.
Job Requirements - Cardiac Cath Lab Experience required.
- Interventional Radiology Experience required.
Schedule Information - Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
Unit Specific Information - Required to float to all procedural areas.
- Functions as scrub and monitor technician on a rotating basis during procedures.
Additional Details - Preferred Skills & Experience: Neuro Interventional Experience, EP Experience.
