Job Details - The PACU Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Post Anesthesia Care patients working with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Surgical staff, and other personnel by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and Hospital policy and procedures.
- The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Skills needed include starting IVs of Same Day Surgery patients, basic admission assessment for SDS patients, familiarity with Type I/Type II diabetic patients and performance of Med Rec, ability to perform clinically sound discharge teaching for endocrine patients, and ability to work in a fast paced Stage II environment.
- Majority of patients are outpatient. The SDS team is very friendly, supportive and cohesive.
Job Requirements - RN licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 2+ years experience required.
Schedule Information - Shift: Days 6AM-3:30PM, end time could extend to 4:30PM.
- 40 hours per week.
- Variable call amount, call time is from 3:30PM-7:00AM, at least 1 shift per week.
- Weekend call: 1 every 4 weeks.
- Guaranteed hours are 72 biweekly.
- No floating.
- No block scheduling.

- Must include permanent home address and SS on the submission.
- Must be greater than 50 miles from facility.
