Job Description: Collaborates with dosimetrist and radiation oncologist to develop radiation therapy treatment plans. Develops and monitors protocols and policies to ensure accurate patient dosimetry. Performs and monitors imaging equipment testing and calibration. Develops and implements appropriate shielding designs, frequent surveys, and routine exposure monitoring. Monitors appropriate use of radiation therapy treatment planning systems, including the characteristics of the dose optimization software, the precision of generated patient and beam geometry, and the applicability of dose calculation algorithms to different clinical situations, including heterogeneity corrections. Additional Job Description: Board certified or board eligible as a Therapeutic Radiologic Physicist by The American Board of Radiology (ABR) or by The American Board for Medical Physics (ABMP).
