Physical Therapist 2 years experience required - General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS (AHA) , Licensed PT Unit Notes START DATE 4/28 JOB: PT ACUTE CARE 50 mile radius rule LOCAL candidates accepted - local rate is $68 FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT. IN PERSON PROCESS can be printed in Jackson or Grenada MS the week prior to start (48 hr turn around) REMOTE PROCESS 10-14 days needed for processing) FLU VACCINE IS REQUIRED at UMMC - only medical exemption is allowed and requires documented evidence from a health care provider of a past severe reaction to the vaccine Department: PT Acute care must have acute care experience - level 1 OR Large hospital - travel experience HIGHLY PREFERRED Department: PT Acute care - of patients treated per day Average 8-10 treatments per day, caseload would be between 12-15 managing but not necessarily treating all - Other Certs Required for all PT: none - Common diagnosis / Types of patients Acute care, ICU, facility sees: transplant cardiac trauma internal med neuro, adult ED, PACU, same day surgery center - if they don't have all of this experience then that is ok, but if they have some or most that is helpful - Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient? Acute Inpatient - What areas are they required to cover? All 5 ICU's, all acute care inpatient beds, transplant cardiac trauma internal med neuro, adult ED, PACU, same day surgery center - Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Acute care experience in level 1 or VERY LARGE hospital (at least 6 months required). PREVIOUS TRAVEL IS HIGHLY PREFERRED, Experience in a trauma center and academic center is preferred, NO new grads, at least 6 months of acute care experience (licensed, outside of school) required - PT Manager/Supervisor YES - Rehab Aides: PTA's no - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) M-F 8-430 - Weekend Requirements occasional, shift is 8-430 - Holiday Requirements No holidays, in leu of holiday traveler would work a weekend shift to meet hours - Scrub Color/Dress Code Royal blue or grey, solid colors - Department specific orientation all computer based, including hospital orientation and department orientation, 1 day of computer and then go out with staff for floor based- probably 2 weeks following another staff member
