    Job Requirements
  • Physician Assistant education, certification by nationally recognized certifying board
  • Licensure by the Texas Medical Board
  • Minimum Experience: Acute Care Pediatric NP/PA education; Critical Care Pediatric NP/PA education; Experience with Arterial line placement, Central Venous Line Placement, Chest Tube Placement, Endotracheal Intubation, Lumbar Puncture, PICC Placement
    Schedule Information
  • Contract length: 13 Weeks
  • Start Date: ASAP (Credentialing Timeframe: 90-day average)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Self-scheduling in 4-week blocks, Minimum of at least 6 shifts per 4-week block.
  • Shift Requirements: Variable - days, evenings, nights, & weekends as part of a 24/7/365 coverage model
  • Weekend, Night, and Holiday work is shared equally among all team members
  • Current shifts include: 10-hour evenings - Dallas Campus, 12-hour Days/Nights (, ) - Dallas & Plano Campus
  • Float: May float between Dallas and Plano campuses
  • On Call/Call Back: In-house night call responsibilities are shared among all team members who have completed orientation to nights.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Dallas campus PICU: 4-6 patients during the day; night call includes all patients assigned to the team at checkout as well as any new admission assigned to team.
  • Plano campus PICU: 6-8 patients during the day; night call includes all patients assigned to team at checkout as well as any new admission assigned to the team.
    Additional Details
  • 50-Mile Radius Rule for travelers - System is open to perm placements and would consider people inside the radius rule
  • Salary: $69,000 (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and expertise)
  • Duties to Provide medical care for critically ill pediatric patients with a broad spectrum of single organ and multi-organ illness.
  • Hours not guaranteed during orientation week or when unit is closed.
  • No orientation offered the last Mondays of the month.
