Perform auto-refraction
Perform diagnostic photography exams
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams
Perform eye irrigation
Perform intraocular pressure measurements
Perform lensometry and sit-lamp examinations
Place dilating drops in eyes as ordered
Refraction in Plus Cylinder
Retinal OCT
Strabismus screenings
Visual Fields
Assisting Physician
Assist Ophthalmologist during examinations and surgeries
Label Medications
Label specimens
Preparing injections
Office Duties
Clean and sterilize and maintain surgical instruments/ equipment
Identify equipment malfunction
Instruct patients regarding contact lenses care/maintenance
Patient teaching regarding ocular medications
Stocking/Ordering Supplies
Exam Preparation
Obtain and record medical history
Positioning/Draping
Prepare patient for exam and surgeries
Record History/Medications/Allergies
Vital Signs - Blood Pressure, Respirations, Temperature, Pulse
Professional Knowledge and Skills
- Min 3 years of exp. as a Ophthalmic Technician - Ophthalmic Tech Cert. - BLS (AHA) - Covid - Local at local rate
