Additional Details - This unit has won unit of distinction 4 of the 5 years of the competition.
- Unit of distinction is a competition in HCA for med-surg units in regards to all quality measures (evidence based practice, falls, CLABSI, CAUTI, healthiness and completeness of schedules, partnership with essential teams in house to decrease expense, certification for nurses, BSN and higher for nurses, RN turnover, etc).
- We won 2 of 600 of all of med-surg units nationwide of HCA.
- We have more primary nursing here and less use of PCTs (CNAs).
- This is a team decision, as the care of the patients are majority nurse interventions.
